Our Story
Providing Quality Production Services Since 2002
Bafot Studios started out from the Nollywood capital, surulere-Lagos, as a portrait and Ad studio, and was incorporated in 2004- with a drive to meet the growing demands for quality video production; especially by corporate entities who needed to create contents that properly represent their brands and meet global standards.
With this in mind, the visioneer, Oludare Onasanya, a media prodigy with rich scholarly and practical experience in media production, bought into the opportunity to fill the need.
With time and further onboarding of talents onto the Bafot team, the business grew and scaled in production capacity and service delivery.
Services expanded from production of documentaries and commercials to medium and large scale event coverage and distribution over traditional and modern platforms.
Bafot Studios licenced, for the first time in Africa, the CBS format “Kids Say the Darndest Things” and collaborated with a team of industry professionals to bring the show to life. After this “Kids Say” has a fresh revival of the format in the US and hopefully, everywhere else in the world.
Bafot Studios has now started to create its own original TV formats. The “Big family Dream” and “Super Smart Kids” are flagship TV formats that will precede many more contents that are now in development. Our goal is simple: Bring original African content to global media platforms and add value to global TV and film media industry. We are focused on family and youth oriented contents.
The Bafot Studios Academy is our training and knowledge-transfer program which allows media production enthusiasts to enroll, acquire and develop hands-on production skills for their use in career advancement and freelancing services in the industry.
We believe in the far-reaching power and impact of visual media and television; using it as a tool to positively program the world we wish to see.
